Optim LLC awarded Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Capital (ECAT) Contract
Optim LLC, a premier manufacturer of proprietary flexible endoscopes for use in the visual diagnosis of Ear-Nose-and-Throat (“ENT”) disorders, announced today the company received an ECAT (electronic catalog) contract from the Defense Logistics Agency valued at up to $18,750,000 over 5 years.
DLA Troop Support’s Medical supply chain developed ECAT to streamline its business practices and expand its range of procurement options. The ECAT System allows DLA Troop Support customers to review and compare contractor electronic catalogs with the ultimate goal of placing on-line orders to the contractor of their choice.
“The ECAT contract award allows for us to provide the Department of Defense with our most advanced medical products”, stated Doug Hughes, President and CEO of Optim. “With this program, we are able to offer these medical customers the best of both worlds: the advantage of purchasing from premium vendors while still benefiting from volume discount prices.
The ENTity Series of flexible laryngoscopes are utilized daily to diagnose and manage airway, voice, and swallowing disorders. The ENTity Series features the company’s proprietary self-contained LED illumination system, providing practitioners with a high-quality, easy-to-use imaging device that can be employed in nearly any health care setting without ancillary equipment common to other endoscopy systems. In addition, Optim manufacturers other medical and non-medical devices under the same quality system and standards.
